Spring Fashion Transition – Metals and Animal Prints

Spring Accessories

Spring is just around the corner and top of mind is a gradual transition via adding in 90s inspired accessories for a fresh feel, as evidenced in all the recent Fashion Weeks street style. For an easy closet refresh if you will, I am really into mixing key spring trends of 90s/00s minimalist and late 80s maximalist aesthetics [cue cool metals and bold animal prints]…everything can go, as long as your true style shines through. Style a la Carrie Bradshaw.

I have to admit that I am catching up on the most recent shows currently being held in Paris however, metals [think gold and silver chains] and prints of all kinds [tiger stripes, my fave at the moment] have been making their appearance at the FW20 shows. Think of these as effortless go-to statement trends to start incorporating with your closet foundational pieces [like those now classic high-waisted mom jeans, some tailored shorts, maybe a faux-leather shirt or two, etc.] that will serve your spring fashion looks well now and well-into the fall winter season, to come.

As seen on my IG, I am not one to shy away from a good bold animal print, so you can imagine my delight that this trend is here to stay [the new neutral, maybe?] Well, to avoid digressing further into my mind’s endless fashion dialogue, I leave with you with some inspiration around edgy metals and fresh prints and accessories that are easily incorporated into your spring fashion wardrobe for both day and night looks that will vibe with that late-80s & 90s IT factor – that something that says so cool but, so approachable.

For the morning week-day coffee run before you really start your day, think casual but, still very glam via the classic white t-shirt and washed denim combo paired with an 80s statement vintage jacket and embellished loafers:

For the impromptu date night dinner look that has a hint of sexy and a lot of confidence. Never shy away from animal prints like crocodile embossed faux-leather and a mini but very mighty leopard print bag for that trending for spring fashion 90s appeal:

For an easy update to your office uniform [for me that’s a oversized blazer in a statement color or print, paired with a white t-shirt, favorite SM shades, and high-waisted denim] just add a bold gold ring or two! I love wearing them stacked like shown below or on alternating fingers:

With this, I end this week’s style entry and leave you with a few more images of my latest favorite finds for my perfect all-day, 9-to-9 look which incorporates pretty much all of which I spoke about: metals gold and silver, high waisted denim, animal prints, bold shoulders and that hint of maximalist glam and that minimalist cool:
