Festive dinner planning with style in one day

Still feeling full from all of Thanksgiving’s delights? I hear ya! However, ’tis officially THE holiday season and I am more than ready to continue with the festivities! Bring on the winter cheer!…or at least via chic holiday styling of self and home. Here in Southern California, seems like we have been greeted with yet another mini-summer at the on-set of winter (oh well, sweater weather buys, silver&gold decor, & my fave hygge details to cozy it up, must continue!)

Here I wanted to share tips for a quick&easy prep and set-up for a beautiful family dinner, which let’s face it – there will be a lot of these going on these following holiday weeks. Ruben and I set-up this family dinner in less than 24 hours and happy to say turned out not only delicious (check-out the pics below for mouth-watering dinner staples) but elegant as well, in a minimalistic approachable way (I am all about the hygge factor these days!)

With a little bit of research (it was our first time making turkey – first time ever!) and preparation your family dinner can turn-out like this is your “Im a pro” moment.

If this is your first time, like it was for us, cooking a full-on festive meal, don’t feel like you need to reinvent the wheel with a 100 step recipe! Head over to a friendly website like Williams-Sonoma and check out their easy-as-pie recipe collection. In our case, we tried the Buttermilk-Brine Turkey Recipe, so easy and so good! Bring a fresh and pretty twist to the recipe with fresh figs and blackberries. Also, feel free to ask your family and friends coming over to BYODish…it will only make for yummier conversation to start off the night.

Now, for me, my favorite part of any occasion is the styling. I love outfit styling but you could say I am equally enthusiastic about interior decor and styling the dinner table. My esthetic is usually a little minimal with a little boho-cozy twist, which I think pairs perfectly with the holiday season: Thanksgiving through the New Year! I love pairing my vintage serve-ware collection from my grandmother with contemporary adds from my go-to for easy and budget-friendly detals: Target. I am loving their new Magnolia collaboration which provides rustic and whimsical details, yet in a minimalistic way such as the cute placemats, napkins and little bowls, shown below.

Finally, sit back, relax and enjoy the family-time this holiday season! Cheers!

PS: How do you find your holiday cheer? Would love to hear about it in the comment section!
