Black Friday used to be well, Black FriDAY. Now, it’s more like Black Friday-WEEK. But hey, who’s complaining? More time to take your time (well, not too much as key, coveted items tend to sell-out in a blink!) and plan what you need from this sale and also, not get the side-glances from everyone at the dinner table on Thanksgiving evening because you are trying to score that last Zara sock-boot on sale. Now, you still have today and with some brands, through Monday!, to score big.
This year, I stuck to a plan to maximize my time and spending for Black Friday Sales: day-to-day staple items that can be used on-repeat and look fresh for years to come with a few trendier items to mix-in. This meant focusing on a few high-quality items paired with a few high-street items from my faves: Anine Bing and Zara, respectively. My Black Friday steals include (& all ranging from $39 to under $180!):
From Anine Bing: Emma Boots in low-cut black leather with galvanized metal buckles (the leather is so soft with contrasting metal details and perfect for pairing with my high-waist jeans…can’t wait to fit back into those – soon very soon!), distressed ankle zipper jeans, and a velvet Bing sweatshirt and black slouchy knit sweater…can you tell I am prepping for new mom status? These always chic staples from Anine Bing will get me a head start on that casual yet stylish-smart look I will need for my day-to-day. *Plus – Anine Bing has extended their Black Friday Sale through Monday!
From Zara: some more boots, of course! Black leather ankle boots with big sparkly buckle (a girl has got to shine this holiday season!) OTK dark blue velvet boots (have had my eye on these for a while now and the chunky heel will serve me well with mommy & me coffee runs), an embroidered checked shirt (with great boho-whim embroidery in the back for a non-traditional take on “festive”, love!) and finally, a check vest with faux-fur pockets (score! I had been looking for a check-detail outerwear piece however was not convinced until I found this Zara vest…can never go wrong with a vest which is perfect for layering or re-purposing as a belted dress.)
Below, I am a few key basics you can keep in mind to make the most of your Black Friday “splurge!” My picks all work together and separately which is another plus of a little black friday planning! A few items are exact and others are similar options to what I purchased due to sold-out status (ie: Anine Bing Emma Boots in Black…told you some things just sell out quick!)
